In the Community

Kowabunga! believes in the importance of being good neighbors. Our management and employees are committed to providing leadership and resources to charitable organizations in the Tampa Bay area in an effort to tackle some of the community’s biggest challenges. Giving back to the community is important and we strive to make a difference in the neighborhoods where we live and work.

Recent Events

The SPCA , Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, has served animals in the Tampa Bay area for more than 65 years, helping between 16,000 to 18,000 homeless and abandoned animals annually. Once it is determined that an animal is physically and emotionally suitable for adoption, the SPCA provides food, shelter, medical care and behavior training until the animal is found a suitable home.

On Saturday, October 18, 2008, our Kowabunga! team and their pets hit the trail for the 18th Annual SPCA of Tampa Bay's Pet Walk, which benefits the homeless, abused and unwanted animals currently living in SPCA shelters. The event attracted more than 2,000 people and raised an astounding $210,000!

Susan G. Komen for the Cure Promise: to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality of care for all and energizing science to find the cures.

The Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure is the largest series of 5K Runs and Fitness Walks in the world and is supported by more than 2 million participants annually. On October 4th, our Kowabunga! team raised approximately $1000 while participating in this important community event to help fund breast health education, cancer screening and treatment projects for our community.
